The car rental terms and conditions stated below apply to all individual and corporate car rental transactions carried out via the izmirmyrentacar.com website, our call center, and our offices.

Age and Driver’s License Requirements

For driving safety and insurance compliance, minimum age and driver’s license duration requirements apply depending on the vehicle group.

Age Limits

Economy Group: Minimum 23 years old
Mid-Size Group: Minimum 23 years old
Upper & Luxury Group: Minimum 25 years old

Driver’s License Duration

Economy & Mid-Size Groups: Minimum 3 years
Upper & Luxury Groups: Minimum 5 years

At the time of vehicle delivery, the following documents are required:

A valid driver’s license
A credit card issued in the renter’s name

Vehicle delivery will not be completed without the submission of these documents.

Foreign customers are required to present their passports and documentation proving that their entry into Turkey was within the last 6 months. Foreign driver’s license holders who have been in Turkey for more than 6 months must present a Turkish driver’s license.

If the stated requirements are not met, vehicle delivery cannot be completed even if a reservation has been confirmed.

Credit Card and Deposit

A credit card registered in the renter’s name and enabled for online use is mandatory for all car rental transactions. Cash payments or third-party credit cards are not accepted.

Depending on the vehicle group and rental duration, a pre-authorization (deposit) may be taken from your credit card.

At the end of the rental period, provided that:

There is no vehicle damage
There are no traffic fines
There are no missing documents or contract violations

the deposit amount will be automatically released by your bank.

Reservation, Payment and Cancellation Policy

Reservations can be canceled free of charge.
Payment may be requested up to 24 hours before the rental date.
Failure to complete payment may result in reservation cancellation.

CDW Insurance covers damages resulting from collisions. Tire, glass, headlight, mirror, and parking damages are excluded.

Cases Where Insurance Becomes Invalid

Insurance coverage becomes invalid and all damages shall be borne by the renter in the following cases:

Use of the vehicle by someone other than the authorized driver
Violation of traffic regulations
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Use of incorrect fuel
Use of the vehicle outside its intended purpose or with excessive load
Failure to report accidents or theft on time
Failure to obtain required traffic and alcohol reports
Failure to return the vehicle key
Late return without prior approval

Mileage and Rental Duration

A daily mileage limit of 200 km may apply.
Rental duration is calculated on a 24-hour basis.
For late returns, 30% of the daily rental fee may be charged per hour.

Reservation and Contract Terms

All reservations made through our website are deemed accepted together with the Car Rental Terms & Conditions, Pricing Policies, and Website Usage Terms.

Reservation confirmations are sent via email. The responsibility for keeping confirmation details lies with the customer. In case of typographical errors or system discrepancies, izmirmyrentacar.com records shall prevail.

If deemed necessary, an equivalent vehicle may be allocated for confirmed reservations or vehicle delivery may be canceled. In such cases, any collected payment will be refunded.

Final Provisions

Izmir My Rent A Car reserves the right to cancel vehicle delivery even for confirmed reservations due to mechanical failures, accidents, force majeure, or operational requirements. For further information, please contact our customer service team.

The minimum age limit for car rentals varies depending on the vehicle group. For economy and mid-range vehicles, the minimum age is 23, while for upper and luxury segment vehicles, the minimum age is 25.

Driving licenses valid for at least 3 years are required for economy and mid-range vehicles, and at least 5 years for upper and luxury vehicles.

Upon vehicle handover, a valid driver's license, a credit card issued in the renter's name, and, if required, identification or a passport must be presented. Vehicle handover will not be processed without these documents.

The security deposit is an amount blocked on your credit card to cover any damage or penalties that may occur during the rental period. It is automatically released by the bank when the vehicle is returned in perfect condition.

Yes, cash payment is possible for car rentals. However, our company reserves the right to make exceptions in this regard. Cash rentals may be accepted depending on the vehicle group, rental period, customer profile, and operational evaluations. Credit card payments or additional security deposits may be requested if deemed necessary. Final approval is given by our company before vehicle delivery.

Yes. Foreign guests can rent a car by presenting their passport and a document proving their entry date into Turkey is less than 6 months ago. Those who have been in Turkey for more than 6 months are required to have a Turkish driving license.

Yes. Daily rentals generally have a 200 km daily usage limit, although this varies depending on the vehicle. Additional mileage charges apply.

However, according to general insurance terms and legal regulations, there are special situations in which the insurance becomes completely void and all material and moral responsibility passes to the renter. These situations are detailed below:

Missing Traffic and Alcohol Reports: Leaving the accident scene, failing to obtain a police or gendarmerie report, or not obtaining an alcohol test within 24 hours. (If the accident involves both parties, failure to collect the other party's documents—registration, license, policy—will invalidate the insurance.)

Alcohol and Substance Influence: Using the vehicle under the influence of alcohol above the legal limit or under the influence of drugs.

Unauthorized Use: Any damages caused when the vehicle is used by individuals not named in the contract or not designated as an "Additional Driver."

Gross Negligence and Legal Violations: Running a red light, driving in the wrong direction, carrying more passengers or cargo than the vehicle’s capacity, or using the vehicle off-road or for racing purposes.

Speed Limit Violations: Accidents noted in the report as caused by "excessive speed."

Mechanical Damage Due to User Error:

Damage caused by hitting or scraping the underside of the vehicle (oil pan, exhaust, mechanical components).

Driving on the rim despite a tire blowout, causing damage to the running axle.

Continuing to drive with warning lights on (oil, temperature, etc.), leading to engine damage.

Refueling the vehicle with the wrong type of fuel.

Negligence and Security Failures: Theft resulting from unlocked doors or open windows; vehicle theft due to leaving the keys inside.

Clutch and Brake Misuse: Damage to the clutch pad and transmission caused by harsh driving or incorrect gear shifts.

Natural Disasters and Terrorism: Unless otherwise specified in the insurance policy, damages caused by not following the instructions of the authorities during extraordinary events.
